Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

1. Overview

ZAlgo Estimated Score for X Tweet (“ZAlgo”, “the extension”) is a Chrome browser extension that provides an estimated engagement-based score for tweets on X (formerly Twitter).

ZAlgo processes only publicly visible engagement signals (such as likes, replies, reposts, bookmarks, and view counts) and performs all computation locally inside the user’s browser.

No data is sent to any server.

2. Data Collection

ZAlgo does not collect personal data in the traditional sense. The extension reads and stores the following information locally:

• Public tweet engagement metrics (likes, replies, reposts, bookmarks, views)
• Tweet metadata (tweet ID, creation time, media type)
• Calculated score values and explainable breakdowns
• Local history snapshots of score changes (limited per tweet)

This data is derived entirely from what is already visible on the X website.

3. How the Data Is Used

The collected data is used exclusively to:

• Compute estimated engagement-based scores
• Render UI overlays (badges, tooltips, profile insights)
• Provide a local analytics dashboard
• Maintain score history for transparency

The data is never used for tracking, advertising, profiling, or analytics.

4. Data Storage

All data is stored locally using:

• chrome.storage.local

There is:

• ❌ No cloud storage
• ❌ No external database
• ❌ No synchronization across devices

5. Permissions

ZAlgo requests only the permissions required for its stated purpose:

• storage — to store scores and history locally
• unlimitedStorage — to prevent silent eviction of local data for users who analyze many tweets
• Host permissions — limited to:
  • https://x.com/*
  • https://twitter.com/*

6. Data Retention & User Control

ZAlgo does not automatically delete stored data by time. This is intentional to preserve score history transparency.

Users can:

• View stored data summaries inside the extension
• Manually clear cached data
• Fully wipe all stored data at any time

7. Data Sharing

ZAlgo does not:

• Sell user data
• Share data with third parties
• Transfer data to external services
• Use analytics, telemetry, or tracking libraries

8. Network Activity

The extension makes no network requests.

All computation happens locally within the browser context.

9. Children’s Privacy

ZAlgo is not intended for children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated as the extension evolves. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
