VocaNum works without a VocaNum account. Learning data is stored locally on your device, optional private iCloud synchronization is available without a Pro purchase when Apple iCloud services are available, and VocaNum collects limited first-party analytics to understand how the app is used and improve the product.

1. Who is responsible for VocaNum?
VocaNum is provided by Kerem ÖZTÜRK, referred to as “VocaNum,” “we,” or “us” in this policy. Contact information is provided in Section 13.
2. Information stored locally by the app
To provide learning, progress, and personalization features, VocaNum stores information locally on your device. This may include:
- Onboarding choices, starting difficulty, daily goal, practice preferences, and app settings.
- Question history, including questions presented, selected answers or “don’t know” choices, correctness, response times, and answer dates.
- Vocabulary progress, confidence, known or forgotten status, review timing, scores, achievements, and practice-session summaries.
This local information is used to operate the app, personalize practice, calculate progress, and display your learning history. Vocabulary and question content required for normal use is bundled with the app.
Some limited information about app usage and learning interactions is also included in the first-party analytics described in Section 4.
3. Optional private iCloud synchronization
VocaNum includes optional synchronization through Apple CloudKit. This synchronization is not restricted to Pro members. In the current app, the user starts synchronization from Settings → iCloud Sync by using actions such as Sync Now or Restore from iCloud when iCloud is available.
When you start a sync, VocaNum may synchronize supported learning data through the private CloudKit database associated with your iCloud account. This may include:
- Your VocaNum profile and learning preferences.
- Vocabulary states, confidence, review timing, and progress.
- Answer records, score events, and practice-session information supported by the current synchronization format.
Private iCloud synchronization is separate from VocaNum's analytics system and separate from whether you have purchased Pro. Learning records synchronized through CloudKit are stored through Apple’s private CloudKit database services for your iCloud account rather than in VocaNum's first-party analytics database.
Sync requires an available iCloud account and Apple CloudKit services. If iCloud is unavailable, restricted, interrupted, or simply not used, VocaNum continues to support local learning. The current app does not require continuous synchronization; synchronization begins when you choose one of the available sync actions.
4. First-party analytics we collect
VocaNum operates a first-party analytics system. The app sends limited analytics events to a VocaNum-operated server so we can understand how the product is used, evaluate existing features, identify areas for improvement, and understand purchase and membership flows.
Depending on the feature being used, analytics may include:
- A randomly generated installation identifier used to associate analytics events with the same app installation.
- Temporary session identifiers and individual analytics event identifiers.
- Event timestamps.
- App version and build number.
- Operating-system version, general device model, and device locale.
- App interactions such as app opens, onboarding progress, profile views, settings interactions, daily-goal interactions, and practice session starts, completions, or abandonments.
- Learning interactions such as questions presented, questions answered, “don't know” selections, correctness, response duration, question type, difficulty, word or question identifiers, and vocabulary progress counts.
- Where applicable, the question, word, selected answer, or correct answer associated with a learning interaction.
- Pro and paywall interactions such as paywall views, dismissals, selected plans, and purchase or restore attempts.
- Purchase-event information such as product identifier, plan type, displayed price, currency, and whether a purchase was started, succeeded, remained pending, was cancelled, failed, or was restored.
The installation identifier is generated by VocaNum. It is not your Apple Account identifier, your name, your email address, or Apple's advertising identifier.
5. How we use analytics information
We use analytics information for first-party product analytics, including to:
- Measure general app and feature usage.
- Understand whether existing learning and product features are useful.
- Identify product areas that may need improvement.
- Plan and evaluate new features.
- Understand practice-session behavior and learning interactions at an aggregate or installation level.
- Measure paywall, subscription, purchase, and restore flows.
- Investigate analytics delivery or data-quality issues.
Analytics information is not used to display third-party advertising, create cross-app advertising profiles, or track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
6. Identifiers and linkage
VocaNum does not require a VocaNum user account. However, analytics events are associated with a randomly generated installation identifier so events from the same app installation can be analyzed together.
Because analytics can be associated with the same installation or device over time, this information may be considered linked to a device for platform privacy-disclosure purposes even though VocaNum does not normally know the real-world identity, name, or email address of the person using that installation.
7. Purchases and payment information
VocaNum Pro purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. VocaNum does not receive or store your payment card number, bank-account information, or other payment credentials.
VocaNum may receive or determine information needed to recognize your Pro entitlement through Apple's StoreKit services. VocaNum also records limited purchase-flow analytics described in Section 4, such as the product or plan involved and whether a purchase or restore operation succeeded, failed, was cancelled, or remained pending.
Purchasing Pro changes access to Pro-labeled premium learning features; it is not required to use the private iCloud synchronization flow described in Section 3.
8. Advertising, sharing, selling, and tracking
VocaNum does not contain third-party advertising.
We do not sell personal information or learning activity. We do not provide VocaNum analytics information to advertisers or data brokers for targeted advertising.
We do not use VocaNum data to track users across apps, websites, or offline properties owned by other companies for targeted advertising or advertising measurement.
9. Retention and deletion
Local learning data remains on your device until it is deleted or reset. In VocaNum, open Profile → Settings → Learning Data to access the available local-data controls, which include exporting data, resetting progress, resetting question history, and deleting local learning data.
If you use private iCloud synchronization, local deletions may be represented in the synchronization data so that another device does not restore an older copy. If you want a local deletion reflected across devices, run a successful synchronization after the deletion before relying on another device’s stored copy.
Deleting or resetting local learning data does not necessarily delete analytics events that were previously transmitted to VocaNum's analytics system.
Analytics records are retained as reasonably necessary to understand product usage, evaluate features, investigate analytics or service issues, and improve VocaNum. Analytics may also be aggregated or de-identified for longer-term product analysis.
Because VocaNum does not use a VocaNum account and analytics records are associated primarily with a randomly generated installation identifier, we may not be able to locate analytics information using only your name or email address. You may contact us using the information in Section 13 with questions about your data or a deletion request.
10. Children’s privacy
VocaNum does not require users to provide a name, email address, phone number, precise location, or advertising identifier as part of normal app use.
The first-party analytics described in this policy may be generated when the app is used. This information is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
If you are a parent or guardian and have questions about information associated with a child's use of VocaNum, contact us using the information in Section 13.
11. Security
VocaNum uses technical and organizational measures intended to reduce privacy and security risks. Analytics information is transmitted to the configured VocaNum analytics service over HTTPS.
Learning records that are not transmitted as analytics remain on the device unless you choose to synchronize supported records through Apple’s private CloudKit services.
No method of electronic storage or network transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
12. This website
These privacy, support, and terms pages do not use advertising cookies or analytics scripts.
As with most websites, the hosting provider may process technical request information, such as an IP address, browser details, requested page, and timestamp, to deliver and secure the site under its own terms and policies.
13. Contact us
Questions about this policy, VocaNum's privacy practices, or requests concerning your information can be sent to keremoztrkdev@gmail.com . You can also visit the VocaNum support page or read the Terms of Use.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when VocaNum's features, data practices, services, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
We will also update the applicable App Store privacy disclosures when VocaNum's data-collection practices materially change.
